The rain light sensor is connected via LIN (

local

interconnect network

)-bus to the BCM and BCM

controls front wiper and low beam head lamp.

The RLS (

Rain light sensor

) measures the

ambient luminosity. A combination of the

measured luminosity values are sent on the LIN

bus. This brightness is provided to the BCM as

frequency

(Analog data).

The rain light sensor

controller ECU includes an algorithm to control the

headlamps status of the vehicle. Combi switch

position, rain sensor sensitivity and park position of

the wiper motor information is provided to the rain

light sensor controller via LIN communication.

LOCATION:

It is located at bottom portion of front windscreen

glass with connector position in upward direction.
