SYSTEM COMPONENTS
1.EMS
The EMS (
Engine Management system
) controls
the following
•
The EMS compares the driving vehicle speed
with the stored vehicle speed set through the
cruise control button on steering wheel switch.
EMS controls fueling to meet the speed
demands if other cruise conditions are satisfied.
•
The EMS receives signals such as ON-OFF,
-/SET
(
COAST/SET
),
+/RES
(
ACCELERATE/RESUME
), and CANCEL from
the cruise control switches.
•
The EMS illuminates the CRUISE main
indicator light on instrument cluster when it
receives the cruise set signal from SET button
on steering wheel switch.
•
The EMS cancels the cruise control system
when
a. Clutch or Brake Pedal depressed.
b. The CANCEL button on Steering Wheel switch
is pressed.
c. The Cruise Switch on the Combi switch is
turned to OFF position.
d. Fault in any of the above.
NOTE
The cruise control is not cancelled when the
accelerator pedal is pressed (e.g. to overtake) and
automatically restores the vehicle to the set speed
as soon as the accelerator is released.
2. Cruise indicator on the Instrument cluster
The cruise tell tale on instrument cluster will come
ON to indicate that the vehicle is on Cruise control
mode. The tell tale will come ON when SET button
on the steering wheel switch is pressed.
3. Cruise switch located on RH stalk of Combi:
Cruise control can be activated by rotating the
Cruise switch to ON position, which is located on
the RH side of combi switch stalk.
!CAUTION
–
Cruise Switch must be always in OFF position
when not in use.
