HANDLING PRECAUTION FOR CRUISE

CONTROL SYSTEM

1. Be careful as the vehicle speed increases when

driving downhill with the cruise control system

on.

2. Do not use the cruise control system where the

road conditions are as follows:

Heavy traffic

Steep downhill

Roads with sharp turns

Icy or snowy roads

Slippery roads

3. When towing, do not use the cruise control

system. The weight of the trailer may cause

problems with cruise control functions, cause a

decrease in control performance and lead to

accidents.

PROCEDURE FOR DTC CONFIRMATION:

Procedure to confirm DTC comprises of 2 types as

mentioned below:

1. Dynamic test (vehicle driving condition)

2. Static test (vehicle stationery condition)

Majority of the faults can be detected in static test.

But certain faults listed below need dynamic test to

confirm the DTC

List of DTC needs to be confirmed with Dynamic

test:

PROCEDURE FOR STATIC TEST:

1.Start the engine with vehicle in neutral condition.

2.Warm up the engine.

3.Raise the engine speed gradually till 2000eRPM

and maintain for 5 seconds.

4.For crank/cam signal related faults raise the

engine speed gradually till no load maximum

speed and foot off back to idle, only once.

5.Observe the cluster for CEL/MIL, if any.

6.Stop the engine.

7.Check the DTC.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN FOR STATIC

TEST:

1.Ensure all safety aspects before starting the

engine.

2.Don’t remove radiator cap once engine is hot.

NOTE

Any intermittent fault issue which is electrical in

nature needs to be subjected to dynamic test for

DTC confirmation.
