Fuel Level Indicator

Testing and Checking Procedure

When the ignition switch is ‘ON’ position, fuel level

indicator gives an approximate indication of the amount

of fuel in the fuel tank.

“F” stands for full and “E” stands for empty.

When indicator shows two levels, it indicates fuel level

in the tank is low & needs immediate refill.

Check fuel level indicator on instrument cluster for

operation as follows:

a) Pullout the wiring harness connector on tank unit.

b) Disconnect the connector and check fuel level

indicator on instrument cluster. It shows empty with

ignition ON.

c) By shorting the two wires. Brown and violet of wiring

harness connector the fuel gauge will show full.

If fuel level indicator shows full, reconnect wires

and check for fuel module. If not check fuse wiring

connector.

If OK, replace fuel gauge and retest.
