SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Fuel Tank
Removal:
Procedure to release fuel system pressure:
i. Start engine.
ii. Disconnect the fuel tank unit’s (fuel module)
electrical connector located under center floor
carpet.
iii. Let engine stall, then turn “OFF” ignition switch.
iv. Reconnect fuel tank unit’s (fuel module) electrical
connector.
Removal of fuel tank from vehicle:
•
Access fuel tank unit from inside car i.e.below co-
driver seat.
•
Fold carpet cutout and remove plastic cover which
has snap fit lugs
•
Disconnect electrical connector of fuel tank unit.
•
Releasing fuel system pressure
Do not drain or store fuel in an open container to
avoid possibility of fire or explosion. Put lid on
container.
CAUTION
WARNING
Since the fuel system remains under pressure when
the engine is not running, release the fuel system
pressure before disconnecting any fuel line to reduce
the chance of personal injury or fire damage to
vehicle components.
•
Disconnect the clamp between filler, breather hose
pipe & middle metal pipe.
•
Remove all the three pipe lines of fuel tank unit
i.e. Fuel feed Line, Fuel return Line, Fuel vapour
line.
•
De-clamp fuel hoses using plier .
