4.1.3.2.MAINTENANCE
A. DRIVESHAFT REMOVAL – LH SIDE:
1. Position the car on a two post lift.
2. Remove the front wheels.
3. Remove the staking and Remove the wheel
hub fixing nut.
4. Disconnect the lower suspension arm from
knuckle by unscrewing the bolt (1).
5. Disconnect the steering rod end (2) from the
knuckle. Refer
Steering group
for procedure.
6. Disconnect the link connecting the strut and
the anti-roll bar.
7. Disconnect the knuckle from the drive shaft,
by swing it along with the strut outwards.
8. Using a suitable tool, release and remove the
drive shaft complete with joints from the
gearbox end.
NOTE:
The checks and inspection on the drive shaft
are similar to that of the TA65* gearbox drive
shaft.
INSTALLATION
1. While refitting first insert the drive shaft from
transaxle end, and then insert in the wheel
end.
2. Tighten the new wheel hub securing nut to the
recommended torque of 6.6 ~ 7.3 + 62° +/- 2°
Kg- m and stake the nut.
3. Fit the lower suspension arm and the steering
rod end; refer Suspension group and Steering
group for tightening torque and for procedure.
