9.5. REMOVAL OF REAR SHOCK ABSORBER

AND COIL SPRINGS

1) Lift the car using two-post lift.

2) Remove Rear Wheel.

3) Position the hydraulic jack below the coil spring

pad of torsion beam in such a way that it slightly

compresses the spring.

4) Loosen rear Shock Absorber bottom fastener

5) Similarly carry out the above steps for the other

side.

6) Remove both the shock absorber fasteners

holding the torsion beam using hydraulic jack at

any one side.

7) Now slowly release and hold the hydraulic jack

pressure so that both the coil springs along with

top rubber can be pulled out.

CAUTION:

Do not lower the torsion beam below

certain level as the brake hoses will be damaged.

8) Remove Rear Shock Absorber top mounting

nyloc nut fastener inside luggage compartment.

9) Remove Rear Shock Absorber.
