B1642 – 12:- Brake Switch– Short to Battery

Customer Symptom
1. Passive vehicle starting will not work only clamp state
will change from OFF/ACC/IGN in AT/AMT.
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
1. Passive vehicle starting will work without brake pedal
press in AT/AMT.
2. Passive vehicle starting will not work only clamp state
will change from OFF/ACC/IGN in AT/AMT.
Lamp Status (If Any)
N.A.
Fault Detection Condition
1. Permanent short circuit to battery of brake signal of
brake switch.
2. Wire cut & shorting to battery of Connector-2 / Pin-2
signal.
3. Bending of pin-2 of connector-2 and shorting to
adjacent pin.
Normal Operating Condition
1. Vehicle battery voltage shall be normal.
2. Brake pedal shall not be pressed continuously for more
than 3 min.
3. Valid paired UID should be present inside the vehicle,
brake pedal press and SSB should be pressed.
Probable Trouble Area
1. Permanent short circuit to battery of brake signal of
brake switch.
2. Wire cut & shorting to battery of Connector-2 / Pin-2
signal with vehicle body.
3. Bending of pin-2 of connector-2 and shorting to battery.
Healing Condition
1. After fixing short to battery fault on brake signal of
brake switch, passive vehicle start should work
normally.
