B1646–00:- PEPS Module Key Authentication Failure – No sub type Information
Overview:-

B1646-00
Customer Symptom
1. On cranking the vehicle Engine is not starting And
2. No ACC or IGN ON is possible even if UID is present And
3. “NoKeyDetectionTelltale” is present in instrument cluster
even if UID is present And
4. RKE functions is also not working
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
1. On cranking the vehicle Engine will not start And
2. No ACC or ING ON will be possible And
3. No RKE functions will work
Lamp Status (If Any)
“NoKeyDetectionTelltale” is present in instrument cluster even if
UID is present inside the vehicle.
Fault Detection Condition
On start-stop switch press, PEPS detect and does the UID
authentication. If UID is detected but UID authentication is
failed, then PEPS logs this DTC.
Normal Operating Condition
1. On cranking the vehicle engine shall start seamlessly And
2. ACC or IGN ON is possible with UID And
3. No “NoKeyDetectionTelltale” is present in instrument cluster
with UID is present inside the vehicle And
4. RKE functions working properly.
Probable Trouble Area
1. UID (Smart Key) And
2. PEPS ECU
Healing Condition
Ignition Transition:- IGN OFF
IGN ON.
On IGN ON during UID authentication no DTC is logged by
PEPS.
