B223E - 12: Rear Wiper Park Position Signal - Circuit short to Battery or Open Circuit

Customer Symptom

Rear wash/wipe may not function correctly

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Rear wash/wipe may not function correctly

Lamp Status (If Any)

NA

Fault Detection Condition

This fault will be logged after the input switch test

routine execution. User has to operate the switch

manually during routine. If short to battery or open

circuit fault is detected for Rear wiper park position

signal then this DTC will be returned with the Routine

results.

Normal Operating Condition

There should not be any fault returned by routine

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Rear wiring harness Short to battery or

open circuit

3. BCM ECU fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF

ON

2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Rear wiper Park Position Signal part of rear wiper motor and interfaced to the BCM as a feedback

input. If the IGN is on and if user put the combi switch to rear wiper on position, rear wiper park position

signal gives a feedback to BCM about the in park and out of park of the rear wiper.

Preliminary Checks:

Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above)

Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
