Customer Symptom
1. Right Rear Fog Lamps always OFF.
2. Facia Switch illumination for rear fog lamp
always OFF
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
1. Right Rear Fog Lamps always OFF.
2. Facia Switch illumination for rear fog lamp
always OFF
Lamp Status (If Any)
Always OFF
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged by BCM when right rear fog lamp
output is short to ground
Normal Operating Condition
If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON
and front fog lamps are ON then rear fog lamps shall
turn ON immediately after pressing the rear fog lamp
switch.
Probable Trouble Area
1. BCM connector Fault
2. Right rear fog lamp output wire Short to ground
from rear wiring harness
3. Lamp damaged
4. Right rear fog lamp mating connector fault
5. BCM ECU fault
Healing Condition
1. Ignition OFF
ON
2. Clear DTC Command
Component Details:
Right rear fog lamps are located at right rear side of vehicle. If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position
lamps are ON and front fog lamps are ON and user presses the rear fog lamp switch then rear fog
lamps will turn ON.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above)
2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
