B2204– 11: Combined High Beam Circuit – Short to Ground

Customer Symptom

3. Combined High Beam always OFF.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. Combined High Beam always OFF.

Lamp Status (If Any)

Always OFF

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets logged by BCM when Combined High

Beam output is short to ground

Normal Operating Condition

If the IGN is ON or Accessory is ON and headlamps is

active then High Beam shall turn ON immediately after

pressing the High Beam switch.

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Front wiring harness circuit short to ground

3. Lamp damaged

4. BCM ECU fault

5. High Beam mating connector fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF

ON

2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

High Beam are located at headlamp of vehicle If the IGN is ON or Accessory is ON and headlamps is

active then High Beam shall turn ON immediately after pressing the High Beam switch

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (9 to 16 V)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
