B222C– 11: Low Beam Relay– Short to Ground

Customer Symptom

2. Low Beam always OFF

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Head lamps low beam output will not turn ON

Lamp Status (If Any)

Always OFF

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets logged by BCM when Low Beam output

is short to ground

Normal Operating Condition

If the IGN is at ON / ACC position and headlamps signal

is active then Low Beam shall turn ON immediately after

pressing the Low Beam switch.

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Front wiring harness short to ground

3. Lamp damaged

4. BCM ECU fault

5. Low Beam lamp mating connector fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF



2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Low Beam are located at headlamp of vehicle If the IGN is at ON / ACC position and headlamps is

active then Low Beam shall turn ON immediately after pressing the Low Beam switch.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
