B225A– 12: Front Fog Lamp Relay – Short to Battery

Customer Symptom

1. Front Fog Lamp always OFF.

2. Front Fog Facia Switch telltale always OFF

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. Front Fog Lamp always OFF.

2. Front Fog Facia Switch telltale always OFF

Lamp Status (If Any)

Always OFF

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets logged by BCM when front fog lamp

output is shorted to battery .

Normal Operating Condition

If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON

then Front Fog Lamp shall turn ON immediately after

pressing the Front Fog Lamp switch.

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Front wiring harness (Front Fog Lamp output

wire Short to battery)

3. Front Fog Lamp bulb blown /lamp damaged

4. BCM ECU fault

5. Front Fog Lamp mating connector fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF



2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Front fog lamps are located at front side of vehicle. If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps

are ON and user presses the front fog lamp switch then front fog lamps will turn ON.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (

9-16 V

)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
