FUNCTION AND INSPECTION OF A.C.

Fresh / Recirculation
actuator motor
Actuates the fresh /
recirculation flap as per
the user choice.
Remove the extreme left hand side grill cover
and by pressing the fresh/recirculation switch,
see the closing / opening of the flap. If it is not
working, no current should flow between the
terminals when the flap is at either of the ends.
2.
Blower Resistor
It operates the blower at
various speeds.
If the blower is not working at speed no 1,
2, and 3, and if it is working only at speed no
4, resistor has to be replaced with a new one.
3.
Anti-Freeze switch
It protects the A. C.
system from freezing
There should always be continuity, at both the
terminals. If there is no continuity, switch has to
be replaced
4.
Linear
Pressure
switch
Protects the A.C. system
from any consequential
damage.
Check the continuity. The ohm meter should
indicate zero reading. If, any resistance / open
circuit is observed, replace the switch with new
one

VSV
(vacuum
solenoid valve)
Device for opening or
closing the vacuum path
to idle up actuator. The
V.S.V. opens or closes
according to the A/C
circuit, engine speed rises
a little higher than normal
idle speed
1. Remove vacuum hoses and electrical
connector from vsv
2. Check VSV for proper vacuum circuit
continuity.
3. Check VSV for short circuit signal from
multimeter should show open circuit between
each terminal and VSV body

Magnetic clutch
Device for running the
compressor with when
the
air
conditioner
operation needed it is
controlled by A/C relay
and compressor relay
1. Disconnect electrical connector
2. Pulley should rotate freely with engine, supply
disconnected
3. Pulley should operate compressor is with
supply connected.
4. Check for noise
