FRONT AXLE (4X2)

INSPECTION

NOTE

Do not grease the unitised bearing as it is pre-

greased for life.

Check the condition of the following for wear or

damage. If necessary replace with new one.

1. Check the condition of hub for wear / scoring

marks. If necessary replace with new hub.

2. Check the condition of wheel bolts for worn out

/stripped threads. Replace the bolts if

necessary. Bolts are press fitted into the hub.

3. Check the condition of hex nut for stripped or

worn out threads. Replace with new one if

required.

4. Check the condition of the upper and lower

wishbone ball joints. Check for excessive play

in ball joints. If required replace with new one.

5. Check the condition of ball joints of tie rods

and ARB link. If necessary replace with new

one.

6. Check brake disc for scoring marks and

measure disc size. Replace with new one if

found undersize.

INSTALLATION

1. Make sure all parts are clean and free from

dust.

2. Connect lower wishbone ball joint.

ball joint installation section)

3. Connect upper wishbone ball joint.

(For

procedure refer Suspension upper wishbone

ball joint installation section)

4. Reconnect steering rack and pinion OBJ end

to stub axle and tighten hex nut to 7 - 8 Kgm

torque

5. Reconnect ARB link to stub axle and tighten

the nut to 8 - 10 Kgm torque.
