PROPELLER SHAFT

II FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT

REMOVAL

1. Remove the Stone guard rear piece for easy

access.

(For stone guard removal procedure

refer Body section)

2. Loosen and remove the mounting bolts for

bearing strap on the front axle side.

3. Properly support the propeller shaft.

4. Loosen and remove the mounting bolts for

bearing strap on the TOD side and the front

propeller shaft from the vehicle.

FITMENT

For fitment follow the reverse procedure of

removal.

NOTE

Follow all the precautions and safety instructions

mentioned under rear propeller shaft (4X4)

fitment.

OVERHAULING

UNIVERSAL JOINT

DISMANTLING

1. Using a soft drift, tap the bearing assembly to

loosen snap ring.

2. Remove snap ring from yoke. Turn the joint

over, tap bearing away from snap ring, and

then remove opposite snap ring.

3. Set the yoke in the arbor press with a piece of

tube stock beneath it. Position the yoke with

the tube fitting bearing up to prevent

interference during disassembly.
