13.3 MAINTENANCE

A. PRELIMINARY INSPECTION

1. Check for any leakages from the wheel end.

2. Check for any physical damages to the rear

axle beam.

3. Put the vehicle in the neutral position and lift

the rear end of the vehicle above the ground

and rotate the tires and check for any unusual

resistance during rotation.

4. During road test check for any humming noise

from the differential or wheel end bearings.

5. Drive the vehicle in full lock condition at slow

speed and if any unusual noise is heard from

the differential case, then the differential might

need overhauling.

B. REGULAR MAINTENANCE

I DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT

1. Lift the vehicle in the two post lift.

2. Loosen and remove the drain plug and drain

the oil and collect the same in the clean

container.

3. Remove the filler plug and fill the oil in the

carrier housing as specified.
