7. Re-position the case in press

and remove side bearing cone
from other side in same manner.
NOTE
It is always preferred to replace side bearings
once pulled out. But one can confirm free rolling
of bearing and reuse it, if they are defect free.
8. Loosen and remove the ring gear screws and
remove the ring gear.
9. If required tap ring gear with a mallet to free it
from case.
NOTE
Discard ring gear screws and replace with new
one.
Install differential case on axle shaft.
10.Use suitable drift to remove the roll pin
retaining cross shaft.
11.Use hammer and punch as shown to remove
the cross pin from case.
12.Toremove side gears and pinion mate gears,
rotate the side gears. This will allow the pinion
mate gears to turn to opening of the case.
Remove pinion mate gears and spherical
washers behind the gears. Lift outside gears
and thrust washers.
Inspect all parts including the machined
surfaces of the case itself. Where necessary,
replace all worn parts.
