Assembly Pinion Bearing Cup
Drive inner bearing cup into carrier using tools
given below:
1. Installer dolly rear pinion bearing cup.
2. Handle In such a way that orientation of
baffle towards pinion oil gallery.
Assemble outer pinion bearing cup and baffle into
carrier using tools given below:
Installer, front pinion bearing cup Handle.
Carrier Pinion Assembly.
Place shims selected as per procedure on pinion
gear and install rear pinion bearing cone; using
Installer, rear pinion bearing cone.
Assemble bearing cone, slinger and new pinion
seal into housing. Use Installer, pinion oil seal and
handle universal.
Apply a light coat of oil to the lip of oil seal.
Install new collapsible spacer onto pinion stem
and assemble in housing using tools given below:
Note:
Collapsible spacer should rest on bearing inner
race & Pinion Shoulder, and it can be fitted in any
one direction.
