AIR CONDITIONING

VACUUM SOLENOID VALVE (VSV)

Engine idling speed raising device is provided to

enable cooler operation in a heavy traffic area.

The VSV (vacuum solenoid valve) is a component

part of this device. Construction of VSV is shown in

Fig. on the right.

Operation

When switching off the air conditioner, theVSV opens

to atmosphere side by compression spring.

F. I. P. lever allows it to return to the idle position.

l

When switching on the air conditioner,-current

flows into the coil, and the VSV opens to vacuum

source by magnetic force.

Thus, the vacuum will act on the diaphragm of

actuator installed on F. I. P.

l

With the help of actuator the accelerator lever is

pushed to get higher idling rpm.
