AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - FULL AIR MIX

TYPE

The temperature adjusting dampers can be set

manually to achieve desired temperature. The air

mix is done at the part shown by dotted lines, to

attain comfortable air conditioning.

BASIC COMPONENTS

The circuit consists of the following basic

components

1.

A/C compressor

2.

Condenser

3.

Receiver/dryer

4.

Expansion valve

5.

Evaporator

6.

Pipes and Hoses

7.

A/C controls

Compressor:

It is critical that only gas be drawn into the

compressor. If liquid enters, it will cause a

hydrostatic lock in the compressor and stall it. The

gas drawn in is compressed to over 14.1 kg/cm’

(201 psi, 1.383 kPa), which causes it to get very

hot.

Condenser:

The condenser mounted at the front of the vehicle

acts as a radiator, drawing off some of the heat of

compression, and changes the high temperature gas

into a liquid under high pressure. When operating

normally, the inlet of the condenser is full of hot gas

and the outlet is full of hot liquid.
