REAR AXLE

DISASSEMBLY OF REAR AXLE

Unitised wheel bearing lubrication is from hypoid gear

lube, thus it is without grease seal.

Unscrew and remove backing plate nuts, holding the

brake anchor (back) plate to the axle housing.

Note : Discard nuts, replace with new ones at the

time of assembly.

Remove the axle shaft.

Note:

While removing the axle shaft in case the cups

get stuck in the housing, make sure that the

axle shafts sides (LH 8 RH) are not inter-

changed.

This affects the bearing performance as they

are pre-matched bearing sets.
