8.3 BATTERY

FUNCTION

The battery has three major functions in the electrical

system :

It is a source of electrical energy for cranking the

engine.

It acts as a voltage stabilizer for the electrical

system.

It can, for limited time, provide energy when the

electrical load exceeds the output of the

alternator.

12V, 25 A/H, Specific Gravity : 1.24 + 0.01

LOCATION

Battery is located below driver’s seat.

REMOVAL & RE-FITMENT OF BATTERY :

Removal:

1. Slide the driver’s seat towards rear side.

2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal by

loosening the nut.

3. Disconnect the battery positive terminal by

loosening the nut.

NOTE:

Ensure that both the battery terminals are away

from each other.

4. Remove both the nuts of battery holding studs.
