6. While fitting steering rack and pinion assembly,

make sure that there are NO sharp edges or weld

burrs on knuckle otherwise it may cut outer ball

joint assembly. The location of possible area is

shown by arrow in figure.

7. While fitting steering rack and pinion assembly,

check for FREE PINION ROTATING TORQUE

(FPT) (8 - 13 Kg-cm)

8. Whenever a new steering rack and pinion assembly

is to be fitted, always check for FREE movement

of rubber bellow with tie rod i.e. check for grease

application inside rubber bellows on tie rods.

9. Always make sure to CENTRALIZE steering wheel

after replacement.

10.All FASTENERS should be tightened to their

specified torque values.

WARNING :

Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a

jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
