Tacho Drive Short Circuit to
VBatt fault
This DTC gets logged due to short
circuit to VBatt fault of the tacho driver
output of EMS ecu
Tacho Indication on Instrument
cluster will not function
1.
Check electrical continuity between EMS ECU pin 257 to
Dashboard cluster connector as per circuit schematic; follow
electrical continuity check procedure, Replace/rectify harness
if required.
2.
Check whether the EMS ecu pin 257 is SC to Battery supply.
3.
Check whether any other faults are present in EMS. If so,
rectify them by following their rectification procedure.
4.
If fault still persists then check whether EMS ecu is getting
Power supply and ground connections.
5.
Confirmatory check after rectification Check: Crank the vehicle,
press the accelerator pedal and check whether the tacho
indication on Instrument cluster is varying as per the
accelerator pedal press.

Tacho Drive Open circuit
fault
This DTC gets logged due to open
circuit fault of the tacho driver output of
EMS ecu
Tacho Indication on Instrument
cluster will not function
1. Check electrical continuity between EMS ECU pin 257 to
Dashboard cluster connector as per circuit schematic; follow
electrical continuity check procedure, Replace/rectify harness
if required.
2. Check whether the EMS ecu pin 257 is SC to Battery supply /
Ground.

Water in Fuel Lamp Short
circiut to Ground fault
This DTC gets logged due to short
circuit to Ground fault of the water in
fuel lamp driver output of EMS ecu
1.
EGR is disabled. Reduced torque
mode activated.
2.
WIF lamp indication on Instrument
cluster will be Continuously ON
1.
Check electrical continuity between EMS ECU pin 250 to
Dashboard cluster connector as per circuit schematic; follow
electrical continuity check procedure, Replace/rectify harness
if required.
2.
Check whether the EMS ecu pin 250 is SC to GND.
3.
Check whether any other faults are present in EMS. If so,
rectify them by following their rectification procedure.
4.
If fault still persists then check whether EMS ecu is getting
Power supply and ground connections.
5.
Confirmatory check after rectification Check: Check whether the
WIF lamp indication is ON during bulb check at Ignition ON
and going OFF after 3 sec of Ignition ON.
