P220016:- KL30 (12V LV supply to OBC) under voltage

Overview:

ISO Code (If applicable)

P220016

Customer Symptom

NA

Fault Effect (On Vehicle)

OBC will stop charging HV battery

Lamp Status (If Any)

NA

DTC Detection Condition

This DTC gets logged if OBC LV Supply voltage is less than 7.5±0.33V

Normal Operating Condition

LV supply voltage of OBC is in the range of 7.5V to 16.5V

Probable Trouble Area

1. LV battery voltage is too low

2. Voltage sensor failure inside OBC.

3. A/D inside OBC is failed.

4. DC- DC converter low output voltage

5. No proper connection between DC DC converter & 12V LV battery

Healing Condition

Disconnect the gun and connect back after VCU sleep

Write up for

the system:-

The on-board charger (OBC) takes AC input and converts it to direct current to charge a HV battery. The LV supply of OBC is

from 12V battery. It requires AC HV supply voltage of 230V, 50Hz to charge the HV battery. Without the LV supply charging is

not possible.

Pre-Check Points:-

KL 30

12V LV supply to OBC

KL 31

LV/Chassis ground to OBC

a) Check for proper terminal connection of 12V LV Battery

b) Check LV Battery voltage to be in range (7.5V - 14V)

c) Check LV Supply Connection of OBC ( KL30, LV connector pin: H1) for damage (connectors, terminals bending &

rusting of pins)

d) Check Ground connection of OBC ( KL31, LV connector pin: G4)
