5. Protect deflector ring from impacts, which

could cause dents. A dented/Damaged

deflector ring may result in an interference

condition and affect the seal.

6. Eared clamp must be in position and crimped.

Take precaution to avoid any contact between

the ear of the clamp and any object

7. Take precaution to avoid any contact between

the inboard seal and the tooling used to insert

the assembly into the transmission

13. DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

FOR

(TRIPOT JOINT)

1. Hold the centre of the axle shaft in the vice as

shown in below Fig. and clean the shaft

thoroughly, using cleaning solvent.

Important:

Do not damage the sealing

surface of outer housing.

2. Remove the small seal retaining clamp from

the axle shaft with a side cutter or by tapping

the clamp ear junction screw driver with

rounded edge as marked in below figure.

Discard the small retaining clamp.

Important:

The screw driver should not damage

the seal.

3. Remove the larger retaining clamp from the

inboard joint by using the screw driver/plier.
