Component Details:

Fuel temperature sensor is NTC resistor which resistance varies according to the fuel temperature

i.e. the resistance will decrease as the fuel temperature increase. Vehicle's fuel temperature sensor is the component that

tells your engine control unit (ECU) to adjust the amount of fuel it injects. When your fuel is warm, it is less dense and it

burns more quickly. On the other hand, when fuel is cold fuel, it is denser and burns slower.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above

Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence.

2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with

respect to earlier issue closure.

3. Check for wiring harness dis-continuities between the fuel temperature sensor and EMS ECU.

4. Poor Driving style leading to fuel temperature rise.

Trouble Shooting:

Step Checks

IF YES

IF NO

1.

Check the Wiring Harness connections between EMS ECU

and fuel temperature sensors as per the schematic. Found

ok?

Go to next step

Rectify the wiring

harness

connections

2.

Observe the driving style of driver. Found abnormal?

Ask him to drive

normally

Go to next step

3

Fault Persists?

Replace Fuel Temp.

sensor

Go to Next step

4

Fault Persists?

Repeat the above

steps for re-

confirmation
