Component Details:

Glow Plug Control Module controls the operation of Glow Plugs installed on each engine cylinder.

Glow Plug Module also provides feedback to EMS ECU regarding the activation status of glow plugs, failures in glow

plugs wiring connections / GPIU module itself. EMS ECU will take rectification actions, incase GPIU reports any errors.

Glow Plugs are installed on engine cylinders to warm up the engine cylinder chamber to aid the vehicle starting and

emission control under ambient temperatures below 0 degrees.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above

Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence.

2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with

respect to earlier issue closure.\

3. Check the wiring harness connections between EMS ECU and GPIU Module as per the circuit Schematic.

4. Loose/ Damaged Connections between GPIU Module and EMS ECU.
