Overview:-

Customer Symptom

SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Front Crash detection performance is degraded &

Front Passenger angular crash detection is not guaranteed.

Lamp Status (If Any)

SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster.

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets logged if signal plausibility failure happens for

Frontal Impact Passenger sensor.

Normal Operating Condition

Signal plausibility failure should not be present.

Probable Trouble Area

Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals

Frontal Impact Passenger sensor

Airbag Wiring Harness

Airbag ECU

Healing Condition

Signal plausibility failure should be removed.

Component Details:-

Frontal Impact Sensor

:- It is usually located in the radiator support vertical member. Front impact sensors collect the

data necessary to make decisions about Airbag deployment.

Airbag ECU

:- It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the

deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the driver and

passengers.

Preliminary Checks:-

1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above)

2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster.

3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound.

4.

Check whether the Frontal Impact Passenger sensor is connected properly to the wiring harness.

Ensure the proper locking of the Frontal Impact Passenger sensor to the wiring harness connector.

Trouble Shooting:-
