B131D – 11:- Hardwired Wakeup Output to BCM– Short to Ground

Overview:-

ISO Code (DTC Code)

B131D - 11

Customer Symptom

1. If vehicle is in sleep mode (i.e. all loads are OFF for

more than 2 min) than Passive entry/exit will not work.

2. If vehicle is ideal than UID button commands lock,

unlock, approach, tailgate, window-up, window-down

& vehicle seek functions will not work.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. If vehicle is in sleep mode (i.e. all loads are OFF for

more than 2 min) than Passive entry/exit will not work.

2. If vehicle is ideal than UID button commands lock,

unlock, approach, tailgate, window-up, window-down

& vehicle seek functions will not work.

Lamp Status (If Any)

N.A.

Fault Detection Condition

1. Permanent short circuit to ground of hardwired

wakeup output to BCM signal.

2. Wire cut & shorting to ground of Connector-2 / Pin-11

signal.

3. Bending of pin-11 of connector-2 and shorting to

adjacent pin.

Normal Operating Condition

1. Vehicle battery voltage shall be normal.

2. No fault on hardwired wakeup output to BCM should

be present.

Probable Trouble Area

1. Permanent short circuit to ground of hardwired

wakeup output to BCM.

2. Wire cut & shorting to ground of Connector-2 / Pin-11

signal with vehicle body.

3. Bending of pin-11 of connector-2 and shorting to

ground pin.

Healing Condition

1. After fixing short to ground fault on hardwired wakeup

output to BCM turn off all load and wait for 2min for

PEPS to go into sleep mode, Passive entry/exit

should work along with all UID button functions.

Component Details:-

1. PEPS ECU.

2. BCM ECU

Preliminary Checks:-

1. Check vehicle battery voltage, it should be normal.

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending or damage.
