U0422 - 81:- Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module

Customer Symptom

None

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

ABS, EBD & ESP – Available

Lamp Status (If Any)

ABS – OFF, EBD – OFF, ESP – OFF

Fault Detection Condition

Incorrect data received from BCM ECU

Normal Operating Condition

BCM ECU sends correct data in normal condition.

Probable Trouble Area

BCM ECU and its interface circuits and sensors

Healing Condition

After rectifying all the functional failures in the BCM ECU.

Preliminary Check:

1.

Check resistance in Diagnostic CAN pin no. 6 and 14. It should be 120 Ω.

2.

Check for short conditions between CAN_H (pin no. 26)-CAN_L (pin no. 14), CAN_H (pin no. 26)-GND (pin no. 13),

CAN_L (pin no. 14)-GND (pin no. 13), CAN_H (pin no. 26)-Vbatt (pin no. 1) and CAN_L (pin no. 14)-GND (pin no. 13).

There should not be any short circuit conditions.

3.

Check continuity between IPC CAN_H (pin no. 8) vehicle side connector to OBD connector CAN_H (pin no. 6) and

CAN_L (pin no. 7) vehicle side connector to ODB connector (pin no.14)

4.

Read IVN DTCs in ABS/ESP in IGN ON condition

Note: After rectification please give Ignition latch to heal the DTC.
