ABS – ON, EBD – Depends on fault type, ESP – ON
Fault Detection Condition
Failure is logged when it is not possible to determine the
faulty wheel exactly, due to the reason that the fastest &
slowest wheel is not constant.
Normal Operating Condition
ABS is functional in between 10 to 16V
Probable Trouble Area
The following fault conditions on more than one WSS:
Open/short circuit in WSS line
WSS dislodging from bracket
Tooth wheel missing
Tire/Rim size
Input amplifier in ECU faulty
Healing Condition
Fault identification and rectification or WSS/ECU replacement
Component Details:
Wheel Speed Sensor
: A wheel speed sensor is part of the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS). It is located on the tires. The
job of the wheel speed sensor is to constantly monitor and report the rotational speed of each tire to the ABS control
module.
Preliminary Checks:
Examine WSS layout for shorts / interruptions. Correct any WSS assembly issues.
Check WSS dislodging from bracket.
Check for any missing Tooth wheel.
