Customer Symptom

ESCL will probably not function or will function intermittently or partially

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Cannot determine scope without knowledge of power line applicability

Lamp Status (If Any)

None

Fault Detection Condition

If Battery (supply) voltage greater than 16V Alternator voltage o/p is greater

than 14.5V.

Normal Operating Condition

Normal operating range:

ECU will be awake from 6V to 16 V.

Full assistance is b/w 11.5 to 16 volts.

Reduced assistance is b/w 9 to 11.5 V

Preliminary Checks:

1. Voltage at the battery terminals should be greater than 11.5V.

2. ESCL power supply connector should have greater than 11.5V for full assistance.

3. Check battery cable and ESCL connector terminals for damage.

4. Check ESCL ECU for pin bend/damage.

5. Alternator output voltage should be between 13.5 V to 14.5 V in engine running condition.
