Customer Symptom

Automatically activation of headlamp may not work.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Automatically activation of headlamp may not work.

Lamp Status (If Any)

Fault Detection Condition

BCM log this fault when Light Sensor Hardware fails. (

May be stuck / short to ground / short to Battery)

Normal Operating Condition

gnition is RUN/CRANK position and Auto Mode is

selected, then if Light sensor detects dark, Then BCM

shall activate Low beam and position lights

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Sensor damaged

3. BCM ECU faulty

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF



2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Light Sensor allows activation of headlamps automatically with input from the light sensor based on the

ambient light level

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
