U1010 - 12: Key In Signal - Circuit Short to Battery

Overview:

U1010 - 12

Customer Symptom

Vehicle RKE Lock will not operate.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. Vehicle RKE Lock will not operate.

2. Battery Drain

Lamp Status (If Any)

NA

Fault Detection Condition

This fault will be logged after the input switch test

routine execution. User has to operate the switch

manually during routine. If short to battery fault is

detected for ignition power mode input switch then this

DTC code will be returned with the Routine results.

Normal Operating Condition

There should not be any fault returned by routine.

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector wired wrong

2. Cockpit wiring harness short to ground

3. Ignition switch failure

4. sensor damaged

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF

ON

2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Key In input switch is part of Ignition switch and interfaced to the BCM. If the Key In input switch is activated

and RKE Lock functionality will not work. If user put the ignition switch to Key In power mode input position,

RKE Lock functionality will not work.

Key In input switch is active high.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
