B2224 – 15: Left Position Lamps – Short to Battery or Open Circuit

Customer Symptom
Left Position Lamps always ON.
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Left Position Lamps always ON.
Lamp Status (If Any)
Always ON
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged by BCM when Left Position
Lamps output is shorted to battery or open circuit
Normal Operating Condition
f the IGN is KeyIN or Keyout/Accessory/On and Main
beam / Dipped beam are ON or Position lamp switch
signal is active, Position lamp will turn ON.
Probable Trouble Area
1. BCM connector Fault
2. Left wiring harness (Left Position Lamps output
wire) short to battery or open circuit
3. Left Position Lamps bulb blown /lamp damaged
4. BCM ECU fault
5. Left Position Lamps mating connector fault
Healing Condition
1. Ignition OFF
ON
2. Clear DTC Command
Component Details:
Position lamps are on the corner of the car (front/rear and left/right) . If the IGN is KeyIN or
Keyout/Accessory/On and Main beam / Dipped beam are ON or Position lamp switch signal is active,
Position lamp will turn ON.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check Battery Voltage (9 – 16 V)
2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
