B223D - 12: Rear Wiper Mode Switch - Circuit short to Battery or Open Circuit

Customer Symptom
Rear wiper always OFF
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Rear wiper always OFF
Lamp Status (If Any)
NA
Fault Detection Condition
This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine
execution. User has to operate the switch manually during
routine. If short to battery or open circuit fault is detected for
rear wiper mode switch then this DTC will be returned with the
Routine results.
Normal Operating Condition
There should not be any fault returned by routine
Probable Trouble Area
1. BCM connector Fault
2. Cockpit harness Short to battery or open circuit
3. Switch damaged
4. Combi switch connector fault.
5. BCM ECU fault
Healing Condition
1. Ignition OFF
ON
2. Clear DTC Command
Component Details:
Rear wiper mode switch is part of combination stalk switch and interfaced to the BCM. If the IGN is if user put the
combi switch to rear wiper position, rear wiper will turn ON.
Preliminary Checks:
Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above)
Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
