U3000 - 08:- Control Module - Bus Signal / Message Failure

U3000 - 08

Customer Symptom

BCM will not operate

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Cannot determine scope without CAN message list

Lamp Status (If Any)

None

Fault Detection Condition

BCM monitors if BCM transmits all CAN frames correctly

Normal Operating Condition

Normal operating range:

ECU will be awake from 6V to 16 V.

Full assistance is b/w 11.5 to 16 volts.

Reduced assistance is b/w 9 to 11.5 V

Probable Trouble Area

CAN transceiver lock up

Healing Condition

Component Details:

N/A

Preliminary Checks:

1. Voltage at the battery terminals should be greater than 11.5V.

2. BCM power supply connector should have greater than 11.5V for full assistance.

3. Check battery cable and BCM connector terminals for damage.

4. Check BCM ECU for pin bend/damage.

5. Alternator output voltage should be between 13.5 V to 14.5 V in engine running condition.
