15. Only use the diagnostic tool to probe faults in

the Airbag system,

NEVER

use electrical

probing instruments like multimeter as the

probing current may deploy the airbag.

16. All the faults in the ECU should be cleared

only using a diagnostic tool.

17. Remember to reset the SRS warning lamp

after conducting a repair by checking for any

errors using the diagnostic tool.

18. Never attach anything to the airbag cover or

allow anything to rest on top of the airbag

module.

19. Always store airbag module in a dry, cool and

secured area.

20. Never attempt to modify any splice or repair

SRS wiring harness.

21. Always ensure airbag wiring is routed

correctly. Be careful to avoid trapping or

pinching the airbag wiring. Look for possible

points of chafing.

22. Ensure all airbag harness connectors are

mated correctly and securely fastened. Do not

leave the connectors hanging loose or allow

SRS components to hang from their

harnesses.

10.6 REPAIRS

NOTE:

Before performing any repairs on SRS

components please refer Safety Precautions

given in previous section.

10.6.1 DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE

Removal

1. Disconnect battery and wait for 2 minutes.

2. Rotate steering wheel in 90 degree clockwise

direction, insert screw driver from bottom

cover to disengage DAB snap, rotate steering

wheel in 90 degree anticlockwise direction,

insert screw driver from bottom cover to

disengage DAB 2

snap.

3. Disconnect electrical connectors of air bag

inflator and horn from DAB after removal of

the plastic clamp provided for the inflator

connector

4. Carefully take out DAB.
