10.2.9 PASSENGER AIRBAG (PAB)

ACTIVATION AND DEACTIVATION SWITCH( IF

FITTED)

If it becomes necessary to fit a child restraint on

front passenger seat, the airbag must be de-

activated using the switch located on the end of

instrument panel on the passenger’s side. On the

Contrary, when an adult is seated in the front

passenger seat, ensure that PAB disabling switch

is turned to ON position. This will ensure that the

passenger airbag is operational in the event of a

crash. Access to this switch can be made with

passenger’s door open. This switch is operated

using the ignition key.

When the PAB disabling switch is turned OFF, the

OFF indicator on the PAB indication lamp glows to

indicate that the passenger airbag has been

deactivated. When PAB disabling switch is turned

ON, the ON indicator on the PAB indication lamp

glows to indicate that the passenger airbag is

operational.

NOTE: The PAB indication lamp glows only

when the Ignition is turned ON. Hence confirm

the PAB status after turning the ignition to ON

position.

If the airbag SRS warning indicator in the

instrument cluster illuminates continuously, it

means that there is malfunction in the system.

Vehicle needs to be diagnosed.
