B. MOMENTARY SWITCH
TOD activation switch is mounted on the fascia
switch. Fascia switch is located in between audio
system and HVAC system on the central console.
This switch is used for:
1. Shifting from 4x2 to Auto and vice versa. In
auto mode all four wheels are driven at 1:1
speed ratio.
2. 4x2 switch LED in FASCIA will be
ON, if vehicle is in 2WD (Two wheel drive)
Mode
OFF, if vehicle is in Auto Mode.
3. If vehicle is in 4x2 mode and the non-latch
cable switch is pressed, amber colored LED
blinks until transfer case shifts into Auto Mode
and then turns OFF. The LED will not blink
when shifting from Auto to 4x2 mode.
NOTE
When TOD is in “4 X 4 / Auto” mode and
Ignition switch is turned to “ON” position, you
will hear a slight noise from the Axle connect
mechanism. Similarly you will hear same noise
while changing over from 4 X 2 to 4 X 4 (Auto)
mode and vice-versa.
While changing over from ‘4X2’ to ‘4X4/AUTO’
or vice-versa, the vehicle speed should be
below 80kmph.
For other details refer fascia switch section in
electrical section.
C. WARNING LAMP
After Ignition ON, TOD Warning Lamp is ON till
approximately 3 seconds.
If there is a fault, the warning lamp remains ON
continuously. Connect the diagnostics tool to
diagnose the faults.
D. GEROTOR PUMP
The Gerotor pump is positive displacement pump
which lubricates the inner part of transfer case.
This pump is mounted on the output shaft. The
output shaft is provided with drilled holes for
circulation of oil. A strainer is provided at the
suction end of the pump through which oil is
sucked into the pump inlet. The strainer is locked
to the case cover with the help of magnet. This
magnet attracts the metallic chips and needs to be
cleaned properly before assembly.
The lubrication oil flows through holes of the
output shaft which in turn lubricate the inner parts
of partial transfer case.
