8.8.12 FLOAT LEVEL SENSOR
Float level sensor gives the information about the
water level in washer bottle to the instrument
cluster.
NOTE:
Float Level Sensor: If water level sensed low then,
the low water level information will be displayed
only one time per Ignition ON.
REMOVAL:
1. Remove the front bumper assembly.
(For
procedure refer body section)
2. Disconnect the electrical connections of float
sensor and pull out the float sensor from its
mounting hole on the washer bottle
(Rubber
grommet will be remained in the washer bottle).
INSPECTION:
(Without removing the float level sensor)
Connect the Multimeter at two pin connector.
Fill the water in the washer bottle.
There should be continuity between the two
pins when water level in the washer bottle is
more than 1.0 liter.
Drain the water and again check the continuity
between the two pins.
There is no continuity
between the pins when the washer bottle is
empty.
If there is continuity in the pins in washer bottle
empty condition then remove the float level
sensor and check the orientation of sensor on
the washer bottle.
If orientation is not ok then fit the float level
sensor in proper orientation and again do the
continuity checking.
REFITMENT:
1. Locate the float sensor in the grommet and
press fit the float sensor.
NOTE:
While fitting float level sensor make sure that the
cut portion on the float sensor should be at
downward position as shown in the below figure.
2. Connect the electrical connections to float level
sensor.
3.
Fit the front bumper assembly.
