REPLACEMENT OF OIL SEAL IN TIMING
HOUSING COVER
1 Drain cooling water in clean container if mixed with
anti-freeze so that it can be reused.
2 Remove radiator assy and intercooler.
3 Slacken and remove poly ‘V’belt Fig. 9.
4 Unlock and unscrew bolts with water pump pulley
Fig 10.
5 Lock the crankshaft at flywheel and remove
crankshaft pulley mounting bolt Fig. 11.
6 Pull out pulley using suitable two leg Puller with
Spacer.
7 Remove electrical connection for cam sensor.
8 Remove screws holding noise dampening cover
and tap it out from dowel pins.
9 Take out the oil slinger. Fig. 12.
10 Remove oil seal from timing gear housing cover
with a suitable punch.
11 Remove the gasket and clean timing housing
cover.
