INSTALLATION

1 Insert oil pump into crankcase carefully Fig. 6 and

tighten mounting screws to specified torque. Fig. 7

2 Install oil sump on crankcase. Use new gaskets, if

necessary. When fitting new gaskets, stick gaskets

to crankcase with sealing compound. Ensure cloth

lined face of gasket is towards oil sump.

3 Connect dipstick tube and air delivery line from

vacuum pump to sump.

4 Fill oil in sump upto correct level.

DISASSEMBLY OF OIL PUMP

1 Unscrew mounting screws and remove strainer

from oil pump cover. Clamp oil pump in a vice. Use

soft jaws for clamping.

2 Pull helical drive gear with puller, 312 589 06 33.

3 Unscrew oil pump housing cover mounting

screws.

4 Unscrew oil pressure relief valve cap and remove

spring, plunger and plunger body.

5 Remove oil pump driven gear with drive shaft out

of oil pump housing.

6 Press out oil pump driven gear from drive shaft.

Remove woodruff key.

7 Remove oil pump idler gear from oil pump idler

shaft.

8 Press out idler shaft from housing.
