ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION OF OIL COOLER

1 Thoroughly clean sealing surfaces between crank

case and oil cooler as well as between cover and

oil cooler (fig. 3).

2 Assemble oil cooler and its cover sticking the

gasket in between them and fit screws with

spring washer. Tighten screws to specified torque.

3 Stick gasket on crankcase with sealing compound

and fit oil cooler cover.

4 Tighten all screws to specified torque evenly

starting from the centre and progressing to either

sides in a cyclic order. Fig. 4.

5 Check bypass valve spring for free length and

tension. Replace spring if it has lost its tension.

6 If necessary, replace bypass valve plunger.

7 Fit valve plunger, spring and tighten closing plug

with new sealing washer.

8 Install starter motor and alternator.

9 Install exhaust manifold and connect exhaust pipe.

10 Fill water in cooling system.

11 Crank engine with starter motor (accelerator

pedal pulled back in order to fill the oil cooler and

oil gallery) before starting engine. Start engine

only when oil pressure is built up.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF OIL PUMP

REMOVAL

1 Unscrew drain plug on oil sump. Drain oil.

2 Disconnect dipstick tube and vacuum pump to

sump air delivery line.

3 Unscrew oil sump mounting screws and remove

oil sump.

4 Unscrew oil sump mounting bolts and remove oil

pump from crankcase. Fig. 5.
