REMOVAL & REFITMENT OF STEERING LOCK

CUM IGNITION SWITCH

REMOVAL

1. Remove steering wheel (Refer “Steering section”)

2. Remove the screw securing steering column lower

panel to the body.

3. Remove two screws securing steering column

upper panel to the lower panel and take out lower

panel.

4. Remove two bolts securing ignition switch

assembly to the steering column.

5. Disconnect electrical connector and take out the

ignition switch assembly.

INSPECTION :

Turn the ignition switch to the off position and

back-probe, with the meter’s positive lead, the

power feed wire at the module.

Connect the meter’s negative to a good ground at

the distributor base.

Turn the ignition to the run or start position as

needed, and measure the voltage.

The reading should be at least 90% of battery

voltage.

The key should be come out at lock position only.

REFITMENT :

1. Align steering lock cum ignition switch assembly

and tighten two mounting bolts. Connect the

electrical connector.

2. Fit steering column lower panel.

3. Fit steering wheel.
