OIL SUMP & OIL STRAINER

Oil Sump

Removal Procedure:

• Position the car on a two post lift.

• Drain the oil from oil sump. (Refer Engine Oil Drain

Procedure)

• Unscrew the hexagonal mounting bolts using ring

spanner.

• Take out the oil sump from engine block.

• Remove liquid gasket using scrapper.

• Clean the oil sump properly to remove any foreign

particles, if present.

• Check oil sump for leakage or damage. Replace it

if found damage.

Refitment Procedure:

• Apply

SEALANT LOCTITE 5910

black colour on

oil sump mating surface on block to ensure leak

proof joint.

• Tighten the hexagonal mounting bolts using ring

spanner at specified torque.

Inspection:

• Check for oil leakage when engine is started.

CAUTION

Risk:

Methyl Ethyl Ketoxime, which may cause eye

irritation and may cause sensation if in contact with

skin, if released during curing.

Safety:

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep

out of reach of children.

First Aid:

In case of contact with eyes, rinse off

immediately with plenty of water and contact a doctor

or Poisonous Information Centre. If swallowed, do

not induce vomiting, contact a doctor or Poisonous

Information Centre immediately and show the

container or the lable. After contact with skin, wash

immediately with plenty of soap and water. If effect

persists, seek medical attention.

For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a

residue free solvent.

Apply continous and even bead of silicone to one

surface surrounding all bolt holes.

Remove excess with knife at once. Assemble parts

immediately.

Do not squeeze out silicone by overtightening bolts.

Retorque will not be necessary.

Cures to touch in an hour and fully cures in 24 hours

measured at 21ºC and 50% relative humidity.

Allow more time in colder or dryer condition.

NOTE
