4. Disengage parking brake cable from rear brake

shoe assembly. (Refer rear brake shoe removal)

and remove parking brake cable from rear brake

shoe assembly.

5. Remove two clamps securing parking brake cable

to engine mounting cradle (a) and two clamps

securing parking brake cable to the body (b)

(Located below floor carpet in the passenger

compartment as shown in figure) and remove cable

from the body.

Installation

1. Do the routing of parking brake cable as shown

below. (View from underbody)

2. Procedure for rubber grommet fitment is as

follows :

(a) Apply a small quantity of grease or soap oil

on the front end of the grommet.

(b) Slightly insert the top portion of the grommet

front end into shell.

(c) Then push the bottom side of the grommet.

(d) Rotate the grommet slightly and ensure that

it is not coming out by pulling.

3. Engage the parking brake cable with rear brake

shoe assembly and refit brake shoes. (Refer rear

brake shoe installation procedure)

4. Refit brake drum. (Refer rear brake drum installation

procedure)

5. Snap fit parking brake cable clip attached to the

brake back plate as shown below. Insertion of clip

is confirmed by “tick” sound.

6. Engage parking brake cablewith parking brake lever

by tightening parking brake adjusting nut. (Do not

adjust [parking brake cable at this point]

7. Fix parking brake cable in to slots of seat mount-

ing bracket.

8. Fit all mounting clamps of parking brake cable.

9. Adjust parking brake cable. (Refer parking brake

cable adjustment procedure)
